Yet little is known about the disease, how to treat it, or indeed how to cure it. The key objectives of the Trust are to raise awareness and specifically, funds for research into identifying a cure and long-term effective treatments for DMD.

NO SURRENDER
The No Surrender Charitable Trust was set up by Jason Boas in 2007 who, at only 33, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The focus for the charity was to support young adults with cancer or other life threatening illness through an on-line social network.
Being a young adult and having cancer is a lonely place. There are limited services within the health system that can cater for the emotional support needed to help a young adult focus on the positive things in life at such a difficult time. Often they are grouped with other patients who, on average over twice their age. The No Surrender Charitable Trust aims to change this, by being able to fund on-line support for the young adults and their families who have suffered from a life threatening disease such as cancer. It hopes to raise funds to help provide an online network of support where patients can be in contact with each other, and share stories and emotions that only they can really understand, as they are the only people who have lived them. At the same time money will also be spent on research to hope prevent diseases robbing not just young adults but anyone of their lives so suddenly.
Despite his situation Jason succeeded in his vision and the No Surrender website continues to bring together young adults to support each other through the emotional distress and upheaval that a life threatening illness brings. With your support our fundraising will continue to honour Jason's vision with the No Surrender Network and also to support important cancer related projects and research.
