Please join us on Sunday 20th May 2012 at London Maccabi, Rowley Lane to enjoy our fabulous FREE FUN DAY for kids and families or to complete either the 1km, 5km or 10km course in order raise money for your chosen charity or charities. Last year participants raised over £160,000 for the charities involved and we are aiming to increase that total this year. The weather at the 2011 event was truly wonderful which of course we can't promise again. We can however promise that you and your family will have a tremendously rewarding day and meet like-minded people who are raising much-needed funds for the outstanding communal organisations involved.
Who is the Community Fun Run aimed at?
The Community Fun Run unites and engages the entire community, young and old, serious runner to casual stroller. All fitness levels are welcome and the event is aimed at adults, kids and families who can opt for the traditional 5km or 10km course or the 1km. This 1km shorter route means that ABSOLUTELY ANYBODY can participate, from the youngest to the oldest – at any fitness level. The 5km run is a more challenging but fun option where you can walk, jog, run, push a buggy or even participate hopping in fancy dress! The 10km course is generally recommended for the more serious runner.
Whatever your reason for getting involved, do please participate. Whatever you can raise is worth raising and you might even want to use this as an excuse to train and get fit!
There is a charge to run or walk in the Community Fun Run which covers the cost of administration, marketing and event t-shirts. This cost is £15 for adults and £10 for children (under 16), but...Following on from last year we have a family rate of £40 for two adults and two children (the equivalent of one child going free!).
This is an administrative fee and goes towards the logistics of the event. All funds that are raised by the participant go directly to your specified charity.
It is also absolutely free to come along on the day and support the runners and enjoy the Fun Day activities.
You can also support the event and participating charities by becoming a volunteer on the day. We have loads of important roles that need filling and the event can't run without their help. If you would like to sign up as a volunteer please call the Maccabi GB office on 020 8457 2333 or email info@communityfunrun.org
