routes

What are the distances/events?

There is a 1KM run, 5KM run, 5KM walk & 10KM course option.

The 1KM will start and finish on the track. The 5KM & 10KM route will start and finish on the fields through mainly flat grassy fields around StoneX stadium.

1KM  – The route is 2 and half times around the track in the stadium. Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of age, ability, or if you have children in a buggy. In the likelihood that we split the 1KM into 2 races for safety reasons, you will be assigned the PINK or BLUE event. You must attend the event you have been given which you will find out in your registration pack.

5KM Run – Challenge yourself with our 5KM route situated on flat grassy fields.

5KM Walk – Want to take in the scenic greenery as you walk around? This is ideal for those who may not consider themselves as distance runners but are happy walking with friends and family.

10KM – This route is 2 laps of the 5KM route and is generally recommended for the more serious and regular distance runners.

Please note, the 5KM & 10KM routes are not wheelchair or buggy friendly. Please contact the Maccabi GB office on 0208-457-2333 to discuss further.

There will be water stations on the 5KM and 10KM routes, however we recommend running or walking with your own water bottle as well.

Do I have to be super-fit to participate?

No. Adults, children and families are all welcome as The Maccabi GB Community Fun Run is aimed at every fitness level.

There is a choice of either a 1KM run/walk, 5KM Run, 5KM walk or 10KM course, so absolutely anybody can participate, from the youngest to the oldest…so no excuses!

Will there be a prize for the winner of each race?

Every runner will receive a Maccabi GB Community Fun Run medal.

Will there be chip timing?

As this is an inclusive event, we will not be measuring every participant's time through chip timing.

CHARITIES    &

FUNDRAISING

How much do I need to raise?

There is no minimum amount to be raised, however this can change depending upon each individual charity. Please be aware that your registration fee goes towards the cost of running the event. It does not go towards your chosen charity or school.

This is a communal charity event and the more money you raise, the more your chosen charity or school will be able to benefit from your participation.

Do I have to run for charity?

On the registration form, you will have to choose a charity or school to run for on the day. There is an expectation that you will actively be fundraising for your chosen charity or school..

Can I use a Sponsorship Form?

Yes - click here to download a sponsorship form.

How many charities can I run for?

You can run for only one charity. We want every charity to maximise the opportunity of receiving sponsorship from your very generous donations. If you are running for your school, they may be partnering with another charity / charities. Please enquire about this with your school.

Help, I don't know which charity to run for!

We have a large list of amazing charities and schools who are all raising money for their vital causes. Please browse through the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run charities/schools list here.

What safety measures are in place for the event for my family?

We at Maccabi GB take full and extensive measures to ensure the safety of all people in attendance. There will be a First Aid area with an Ambulance ready for all eventualities on the day. The First Aiders will also be roaming the whole site throughout the event.
