Support for children living with cancer in the family
When cancer strikes, it strikes the entire family hard. Jeremy’s Circle’s mission is to create a supportive community based on friendship and fun for the children and young teens in Israel growing up with cancer in their families or who have suffered a cancer loss.
Jeremy’s Circle throws fun days for the kids and their families (parents and siblings) throughout the year. We show the children that they are not alone and help them have fun with other kids like themselves. We also hold teen events – without their parents – to give the teens a break from the tension at home and forge much needed friendships.
Cancer does not discriminate and neither do we. We invite all children, teens and their parents anywhere in Israel (or who plan to visit) – who have been touched by cancer – to join our circle of community and support.
Jeremy’s Circle is a community of fun and support
Jeremy’s Circle understands the physical, emotional and financial demands of cancer on a young family and therefore, does not require any effort by the parents for their children to participate in the events. Transportation, entry fees, food and drink are provided, and supervision is handled by paid professionals and volunteers.
How we got started…
Jeremy’s Circle was conceived by Jeremy Coleman, his sisters Juliette and Naomi, and his wife Pamela Becker. Jeremy had three children aged 6 months to 6 years when he was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer in May 2007. The organization was inspired by the friends and family that embraced Jeremy’s kids – taking them out for hikes, sleepovers, movies and barbeques – when he was in treatment.
Join us in helping these kids be kids despite the very grown-up stresses in their families – Join the run or donate today!
