Norwood is the UK's largest Jewish charity supporting vulnerable children and their families, children with special educational needs, and people with learning disabilities and autism. We deliver life-changing services to about 4,000 people across London and the South East through a range of bespoke services that are flexible and responsive to individual needs.
We believe that everyone should be able to live the life they choose for themselves, irrespective of ability. For families affected by breakdown, bereavement, addiction, mental health problems or who just need some support to bring up their children, we offer everything from parenting classes to counselling; social work to support groups. From nursery through to college, we provide specialist educational support, including educational psychologists, and art, occupational and speech and language therapies to children with learning disabilities to help them reach their full potential. Our services for adults with learning disabilities encourage independence and choice by providing accommodation options, health and wellbeing programmes, life skills and learning opportunities, and job coaching.
These services, and many others, are delivered by a workforce of more than 2,500, made up of 1,250 staff and 1,500 dedicated volunteers. These services cost £35 million a year to run, £12 million of which we must raise through voluntary donations.

Become a Norwood Challenger
Norwood was the very first charity to introduce an overseas charity cycling challenge and in the 28 years since, we have grown from strength to strength. Our experience is second to none as we have cycled across America, Africa and Asia to over 36 different countries around the world – taking hundreds of our challengers on breath taking adventures; creating memories and friendships that have lasted a lifetime. What’s more, we share the experience with the people we support, inspiring us to finish the challenge, together.
Whether you are a cyclist, trekker or runner, join one of our challenges this year as we take you out of your comfort zone for a truly memorable experience that in turn, will be helping vulnerable families, children and adults in your community conquer challenges of their own.
